چکیده

Abstract Type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) is a cardio-renal-metabolic condition that frequently associated with multiple comorbidities, including atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease (ASCVD), heart failure (HF), and chronic kidney (CKD). The sodium-glucose co-transporter-2 (SGLT2) inhibitors, which lower glycated hemoglobin, fasting postprandial plasma glucose levels, body weight, blood pressure, as well reduce the risk of range renal outcomes without increasing hypoglycaemic risk, have heralded paradigm shift in management T2DM. These drugs are compatible most other glucose-lowering agents can be used patients wide comorbid conditions, ASCVD, HF, CKD, those estimated glomerular filtration rates low 30 mL/min/1.73 m . However, there misunderstandings surrounding clinical implications SGLT2 inhibitors’ mechanism action concerns about key adverse events this class has been associated. This narrative review summarizes data support efficacy inhibitors reducing risks T2DM conditions clarifies information relating to inhibitor-related events.
